Upcoming fixtures

These are the next fixtures I'll be looking at:

PSL - WEEK 18

With matches coming thick and fast in the PSL, vital points are again up for grabs tonite in a full round of fixtures.

Bloemfontein Celtic will be hard pressed to contain a free flowing Ajax CT in Bloem as they are without three key players in Kekana, Mshengu and Spandeel all suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards. If anyone is going to beat Celtic at Seisa Ramabodou Stadium, tonite could be the night for the Cape side.

Both Supersport United and Wits were involved in CAF outings over the weekend and both have a point to prove. Wits are going through their traditional mid season slump, while S/S lost to Aces to put a damper on their recovery. Wits beat the champions 3 - 0 in round 1. I can't see a repeat to be honest.

Santos have been pretty solid at home this campaign, losing only one of nine matches. Free State Stars have only one win on the road this season and will struggle again even for one point.

Arrows / Chiefs is probably one of two matches to feature a battle tonite with the Amakhozi eager to stay in touch with arch rivals Pirates. Arrows are struggling with inconsistent results, but on the night they can produce fireworks.

Another KZN derby and one that sees two teams in trouble. On their day, both teams can play quite wonderful football. Amazulu 4 - 0 away over Swallows and Pmb Utd 3 - 0 over Ajax recently illustrates this point. My money is on the home side in this one.

Aces will be on a high as they travel to Rustenburg after beating Gavin Hunt's champions 2 - 1 last time out to give Dolezar his first win at the club. However ODG has a fair side at this disposal too and Aces could be back to hard times again.

Logleaders Orlando Pirates have it all to lose tonite against surprise newcomers Vasco. Meeting in round 1, Zuma struck early for Vasco, but Pirates came back strong to score two in response. Zuma's injury will be a worry for the visitors whose lack of depth could be their biggest enemy in the latter stages of this season.

Swallows / Sundowns is without doubt my match of the night. Sundowns are a side in turmoil and threatening free-fall out of contention for league honors. Swallows are still rock bottom and their last two results have not helped matters. The time is right one feels for Gordon to re-establish the Birds and a big scalp will help his campaign no end.
